Suburban Dawn traces the interlocking stories of Bloomington, Richfield and Edina, whose pasts and presents have much in common. When Minnesota organized in 1858, Bloomington and Richfield bordered each other. Those living in west Richfield formed their own township called Edina in 1888. The book’s unusual format features 37 carefully documented narratives that illustrate how these communities evolved from agricultural outposts into burgeoning suburbs.
